Shalford Repair Cafe (SRC) Terms and Conditions
Shalford Repair Café (SRC) is a community repair space NOT a repair service. We repair items that would otherwise be discarded. SRC does not do alterations, upgrades or maintenance.
Only ONE item per owner can be accepted; more items are at SRC discretion. A registration form is required for each item.
All repairs are carried out by volunteers not professionals, who can refuse to repair any item without giving a reason. Owners bring items entirely at their own risk.
Owners are expected to sit with the repairer to observe the repair.
Neither the Trustees, organisers nor volunteers shall be liable for any loss or injury that may result from any repair carried out at the Café or advice given or if an item does not work on return home. No warranty can be given in any respect of any item repaired.
The data from any item must be backed up beforehand. SRC is not responsible for saving data or if it is lost. Any warranty for an item may be invalidated.
All items brought to SRC must remain with the owner at all times and be removed from the premises by the owner, whether or not repaired.
Owners and repairers may agree that an item be removed for repair away from the SRC. SRC Insurance does not cover such an arrangement.
Parents or Guardians are responsible at all times for the behaviour their children whilst on the SRC premises.
Owners may be asked to provide consumables. However, no charge is made for repairs but owners are invited to make a donation to help with the running costs.
